Time Management for the Part-Time Network Marketer: Tips to Be Efficient and Successful by Traliece Bradford

If you are a part-time network marketer or any type of businessperson under the umbrella of home based business and have been in business for at least 90 days, you may have already discovered one of the main day by day challenges of making time for your business. Thus, you may also know how this could be particularly challenging and even discouraging when you factor in job, family, and even eating and sleeping. However, there are numerous people in this industry who have started out part-time whom are now full time and successful, thus showing that it is possible those who really desire it.
1. Reprioritize your life- What things are you willing to give up temporarily for the sake of your business? Granted balance is important but, depending on what your goals are for your business, sacrifices would have to be made. A popular priority list by many in this exact order is: 1) God/religious/spiritual affiliation, if any 2) Family 3) Business (for those who want to leave the corporate rat race). Everything else can be put on the backburner until you are living your dreams.

2. Treat Your Business like a Business- The famous quote in this industry is true: Respect your business like a business and your business will pay you like a business; treat your business like a hobby, it will pay you like a hobby. By making your business a high priority, it will get you what you are looking to accomplish faster.

3. Schedule- How many hours/days do you work your business consistently? How many hours do you spend on personal development per week? A nice and suggested ballpark number of the hours per week for a part-time network marketer are between 10-20 hours/week marketing, arguably, one hour on training, and 1-2 hours/day on personal development. Designate specific times/days that your business is going to be "open and close" and actually be open and close when you are suppose to be. Disclaimer: How much time you decide to put aside for business and personal development is up to your desire level and how fast you want to get there.

4. Leverage Your Time- Figure out a way how you can leverage your time to get the most bang for your time buck. Examples could be anything from having your children put flyers on cars and passing out your business cards; learning and investing in automated marketing methods such as Pay-Per-Click Ads, email marketing to lead with email broadcast and email autoresponders, (please learn first!), and free classifieds; listening to personal development and recorded trainings repeatedly (in your car to and from work, while you brush your teeth, or while falling asleep) instead of reading; delegating house chores, cooking, and errands to other family members or pay someone for cheap to do these things for you.

5. Be Consistent- This goes back to treating your business like a business. In order to see growth both financially and personally you have to be persistent and consistent whether you feel like it or not. Even when you had a bad day you have to make the moment by moment choice to work your business and not be distracted. Your desire always has to outweigh whatever else is going on.

6. Focus on Marketing- A very critical tip in time management for the part-time network marketer is to spend the most of your business time doing actual marketing. The training calls, webinars, seminars, and meetings are important but, it is possible to earn while you learn. Also, working on projects such as creating the perfect business card, perfecting your personal website with frills and thrills, and only listening to training calls during "business hours" after being in the business for a month is NOT working your business.

7. Plan Your Work and Work Your Plan- Create a set list of tasks you would like to accomplish during business hours for each day. For example, you made decide that during the 2 hours when business is open to make 20 live calls with leads; write 2 articles for article marketing; spend one hour doing 3-way calls for your team members and the other hour calling people from your list; split test two Pay Per Click Ads. The next day you can conduct another marketing method or do the same method from the previous day. If by chance you do not finish within whatever time block you have given for your business that day, use your discretion on whether to stop or continue until the task is accomplished. After all, it is your business.

8. Track Your Progress- Take good notes during your marketing time to determine what is and what is not working for you. This is to prevent wasting more time later on and to keep you moving forward. For example, if you are calling people from a list, be sure that you list is endlessly abundant with prospect so that 1) you are never in lead poverty and 2) you do not spend too much time with those who are not serious about your opportunity because you are not impoverish for leads. In another scenario, if you are marketing online and researching keywords that could put your content on the first page of a search engine website, start a spreadsheet organizing all of the keywords that you have tested, how many times that keyword is searched/day, and how much content is pulled up on that keyword in the search engine.

Time is truly priceless especially since we do not know how much time we have on this earth. However, it would be an injustice to yourself and your desires to not figure out a way to fit in time for your business. Remember, many have been where you are now and were able to have dreams come into realization. Success is up to you. You have to take full responsibility for your business. By having a burning desire and persistence, you will achieve the reason for starting in this business.
